#TeamAugustus #OneLeggedPonyFTW

TODAY...is the day! And I seriously couldn’t be any more excited or honored to tell you all about the amazingly spectacular Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green! And if you feel the same, be sure to rock any of the following hashtags on twitter with the voting link! #TeamAugustus or #TeamGus OR #OneLeggedPonyFTW

ALSO! Be sure to tweet the hell out of John Green and let's see if #TeamGus can get an RT from the man himself! (did you vote yet?)

So, where shall we start with Mr. Waters? Perhaps his adorably sexy looks? Yes, I do say, that’s probably a splendid place to start!

Augustus Waters has short, rich dark brown hair and sharp blue eyes that contrast oh so seductively. He’s lean yet muscular and just tall enough for tip-toe kisses. And behind those luscious lips? He keeps a set of smiles. His crooked one for when he’s trying to be sexy and his real one, the one that’s too big for his face and makes him look adorable.  Oh, also. His voice has a look of it’s own, described as, “low, smoky and dead sexy.” *THUD* Read me a bedtime story PUH-LEASE! (i think he looks a little shumfin' like this    YUM.) vote for hotness!

    “He’s not that smart.”
“She’s right,” Augustus says. “It’s just that most really good-looking people are stupid, so I exceed expectations.”
“Right, it’s primarily his hotness.”
“It can be sort of blinding,” he said.
“It actually did blind our friend Isaac.”
“Terrible tragedy, that. But can I help my own deadly beauty?”
“You cannot.”
“It is my burden, this beautiful face.”
“Not to mention your body.”
“Seriously, don’t even get me start on my hot bod. You don’t want to see me naked, Dave. Seeing me naked actually took Hazel Grace’s breath away,” he said, nodding toward the oxygen tank.

And sure, Gus is a horrible driver and he makes terribly dry cheese sandwiches. And yeah, he’s addicted to the video game Counterinsurgence and possibly encourages delinquent behavior * cough egging Isaac’s ex girlfriend’s car cough* also *cough vote cough*

But Gus is someone who will be there for you no matter what. Through your ups and downs and your highs and lowest lows. He’s that kind of guy. He’s witty and sarcastic and can make you laugh so hard it hurts:
“It’s difficult to ascertain whether he is trying to arouse her or perform a breast exam.”
And he’s intelligent and magnificent and makes you wonder how he’s a 17 year old boy:
“They don’t kill you unless you light them,” he said. “And I’ve never lit one. It’s a metaphor, see: You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do it’s killing.”
And he’s thoughtful and caring and makes you pray so hard that he was real and you could be with him for just one day:
“I didn’t save my wish.”
“Ah, but I saved mine.”
"Augustus, really. You don’t have to do this.”
“Sure I do,” he said. “I found my wish."

He’s basically everything you could ever want in a boy.

Augustus Waters may be a self aggrandizing bastard, but it’s honestly impossible to walk away from him without developing some kind of Augustus Waters Fetish. Trust me, I know!

He may cause you to do this:

But I assure you, he is worth all of the tears.

So vote for Gus, okay? Okay.

The World SHOULD be a Wish Granting Factory: Let's Make It Happen

It's that time of year again: Crush Tourney Time! As most of you already know! (Unless you've been living under a rock or under the sea or underwear. BAHA. Bad joke.) Ehem, anyway. For some reason i canNOT stay away from these things. The Crush Tourneys seem to consume my thoughts, twitter feed and internet screen for months at a time. Why is this?

Because i am majorly addicted to falling in love with fictional boys.
But you already knew this.

Anywhoooo! This year i got the undoubtedly incredible honor of being the advocate for a boy so spectaularly great that i couldn't possibly put into words how much he means to me.
This boy made me laugh uncontrollably, sigh with swoontastic delight and cry with every fiber of my soul.

This boy...loving this boy kind of feels like this:

Do you know who i'm talking about yet? I'll give you a few hints:
"Literally."
"It's a metaphor."
"Get it! Kick the shit out of that chair!"
"You know, the primary taste I'm getting is not-Oranjee."
“Maybe 'okay' will be our 'always.”
If you guessed Harry Potter, you are horribly wrong. And i'm thinking i should probably slap you. BUT if you guessed Augustus Waters from John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, then you are CORRECT!! And may the sun forever shine on your beautiful spirit!

YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS. THIS BOY. THIS BOY IS EVERYTHING. Tell me you've met him!?! Tell me you LOVE him!?! Tell me he is everything!?!

Ehem...sorry i got a little carried away there. All right, why am i here!? Because i need YOUR HELP! Yes, you! And you! You too, you silly goose, get over here! How have you been? Good? GOOD! So, on Monday JULY 23RD (THIS MONDAY!) Mr. Augustus Waters will be going up against Daemon from Jennifer Armentrout's Lux Series. And i hear Daemon is, like, a major stud. So it'll be a tough match.

The world is NOT a wish granting factory, we have to MAKE THIS HAPPEN! And even though it's this one-legged pony's first time around the corral, let's get him past round one, because he DESERVES IT. He really, really does. Out of every and any fictional boy, Augustus Waters DESERVES a win. If you know him, you know this.

And of course, incentives will be involved.
Perhaps a John Green Book Bundle.
Maybe your choice of purchase from the DFTBA webstore
Possibly even my The Hectic Glow wristband.
WHO KNOWS!

What i do know is that you should head over to The YA Sisterhood on Monday and VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! for Gus, because he would love and appreciate that, and so would i!

So vote for Gus, okay?

more avi's coming tomorrow! Or you'd like to submit your own Augustus Waters creation shoot me and e-mail at: brooke_reports@yahoo.com!

Through to You by Emily Hainsworth

Through To You
Through to You
Author: Emily Hainsworth
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Pages: 272
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Team: Nina. I think. Unless Cam’s Viv came back...but she, like, can’t...so Nina!
Camden Pike has been grief-stricken since his girlfriend, Viv, died. Viv was the last good thing in his life: helping him rebuild his identity after a career-ending football injury, picking up the pieces when his home life shattered, and healing his pain long after the meds wore off. And now, he’d give anything for one more glimpse of her. But when Cam makes a visit to the site of Viv’s deadly car accident, he sees some kind of apparition. And it isn’t Viv.

The apparition’s name is Nina, and she’s not a ghost. She’s a girl from a parallel world, and in this world, Viv is still alive. Cam can’t believe his wildest dreams have come true. All he can focus on is getting his girlfriend back, no matter the cost. But things are different in this other world: Viv and Cam have both made very different choices, things between them have changed in unexpected ways, and Viv isn’t the same girl he remembers. Nina is keeping some dangerous secrets, too, and the window between the worlds is shrinking every day. As Cam comes to terms with who this Viv has become and the part Nina played in his parallel story, he’s forced to choose—stay with Viv or let her go—before the window closes between them once and for all.~Goodreads

I flew through this book. Probably because Camden’s voice is amazing and I fell for him immediately!! He’s genuine and broken and an utter...guy—which I absolutely adore. *sighs* Yes, I liked Camden very much :)

But I also felt extremely bad for him. Because not only did he lose the ability to play football he also lost his girlfriend, Viv, in a terrible accident that he still blames himself for months after the fact.

So when Cam sees a girl materialize near Viv’s memorial, he thinks he’s finally lost it. He’s pretty sure he’s gone insane due to an over excessive amount of grief. Until the girl, Nina, appears again, frazzled and sprouting off things that don’t make sense—like how Cam is actually her best friend and Viv is still alive. *GASP*

Enter phase step-through-the-green-ghostly-light-by-Viv’s-memorial-where-Nina-keeps-poping-through. When Cam completes said phase he discovers a crazy parallel world where Viv’s alive, he can still play football and everything else is totally different yet completely the same...

Dude. It’s so cray! Like holy snap! The concept of walking through a portal into a different world!? Where everything you’ve lost is suddenly...not anymore?!? Insane.

But all that really matters to Cam is that he has Viv back.

And I actually really liked the alternate universe Viv. I was rooting for her and Cam most of the book because she made him SO HAPPY—and Cam’s just one of those guys you want to see happy, ya know!?

But the more time Cam spent in the alternate universe...the more time he talked with Nina too and I liked her a lot as well! Cam’s relationship with both girls was such a switch from the typical triangle and I loved every second of it!

Annywho! Cam tries to balance his time in that world and this world, but it proves to be difficult. Especially when a certain girlfriend refuses to stay where she belongs. So, INSERT A FREAKING HUGE TWIST HERE and you'll see me speechless and stunned. Like WHOA! Whoa. Insane.

This book ended way too quickly! And it was SO bittersweet, it was adorable in a way that made my heart clench and shocking in a way that made me not want to say goodbye to the characters!

Overall, Through to You is incredible story and I’d definitely say it’s a debut that should not be missed!

OH MY SNAP! I need this yesterday!! Especially with how Soulbound ended!! Like, how am i suppose to wait until next summer?!?! I WILL DIE A SLOW DEATH BEFORE THEN!! I need more Darius!! And Kaya!! And Katanas!! Yep. Wants. Hard.

“Not by blood,” he says. “But by heart.”

Update and Music Monday

Hey lovelies! I am so sorry for the lack of posts these last couple of weeks! I’ve been pretty busy!

How am I more busy in the summer than the school year? 0_o Makes no sense.

Oooh, wait...my job doesn’t have internet so...i actually have to, like, work for hours at a time :P

And between work and planning for my sister’s baby to arrive I was running back and forth all week! My sister also went into the hospital multiple times with horrible back pain and contractions thinking she was in labor.

But alas she was not.

Until Wednesday night!!

Only she wasn’t dilated enough so they sent her home. But at her regular check up Thurs morning, they said she was ready!!

So my beautiful baby niece was born on Thursday July 12th at 2:54! Guys. Guys...GUYS. It was the most incredible thing. My sister allowed me to be in the room when Sophie was born and it was just...such an amazing miracle. <3

Sophie is the love of my life! And she definitely beats out all fictional boys for the title! :P

ANYWHO! I just wanted to apologize and felt I owned ya an explanation as to why I haven’t been around much! I hope to get back to posting more soon!

Okay, so without further ado, Music Monday:

I've been listening to both of these songs on repeat the last week! hope you love 'em too! whoop! :P

Also...it's my birthday today  :} <---weird creepy smile.

Hatchet meets Lost in this modern-day adventure tale of one girl's reawakening

Jane is on a plane on her way home to Montclair, New Jersey, from a mental hospital. She is about to kill herself. Just before she can swallow a lethal dose of pills, the plane hits turbulence and everything goes black. Jane wakes up amidst piles of wreckage and charred bodies on a snowy mountaintop. There is only one other survivor: a boy named Paul, who inspires Jane to want to fight for her life for the first time.

Jane and Paul scale icy slopes and huddle together for warmth at night, forging an intense emotional bond. But the wilderness is a vast and lethal force, and only one of them will survive.~Goodreads
Jane, wants to die—that’s clear from the start (seeing as though she’s in a mental hospital for attempted suicide...) But, she still follows the facility’s program to a tee--talking with her therapist, attending group counseling and overall being on her best behavior so she can score a temporary ticket out.

Little does she know that the plane ride home and the adorably attractive boy seated next to her will change her life forever.

Mr. Paul Hart (adorably attractive boy) tries to make conversation with Jane but she just ain’t having it. She’s got bigger things to worry about, like falling asleep in the plane’s bathroom and never waking up—so, whose got time for small talk, right?

Well, fast-forward a couple sleeping pills, EXtreme turbulence and a crash in mountains later...and Jane’s going to have to start singing a different tune. Because the only other person who survived the crash? That adorably attractive boy. Who she’s probably going to have to talk to now...

Jane has no choice but to team up with Paul, and together they try to keep one another alive. First step towards survival? Go find supplies. They end up heading back to the main body of the plane to search through other passenger’s belongings. What they find are a couple of sleeping bags, a few water bottles and some candy. Not much.

I seriously felt so bad for them. It’s below effing zero degrees, they’re scared as eff and the chance of them being rescued is...slim. But somehow they both stay positive. Or at least, when one wasn’t positive the other one was!

And I absolutely adored Paul. He was super arrogant but also just the sweetest thing. I totally ended up falling for him and so did Jane.

In the six days they’re stranded together they share so much more than just a sleeping bag....in the cold...at night...for the body heat…. ;)

Ehem! Moving on, so Jane shares her past with Paul and he spills his hopes, fears and regrets too. Their time together was so freaking precious. They were all cute and cuddly one second and then they’d bicker and banter the next. *sighs* I love bi-polar relationships. :P

Anywhoooo, so the second step towards survival? Get to higher ground—a mountaintop where they can be seen. But it’s not that easy and the mountain throws obstacles in Jane and Paul’s way....leading to one of them not quite making it out.

With an ending that broke my heart and had me in tears, Survive will stick with me for a long time. And I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a suspenseful romantic survival story! (say that ten times fast!)

Prodigy (Legend, #2)
“Kaede’s been gone for eight minutes,” I breathe through Day’s kisses. “They except us back out there in twenty-two.”
Day twines his hand through my hair and gently pulls my head back, exposing my neck. “Let them wait,” he murmurs.

June trips me and pins me to the floor. Her hands push my wrists down. “See?” she says. “Tricked you. You’re always staring at your opponent’s eyes—but that gives you a bad peripheral view. If you want to track my arms and legs you have to focus on my chest.”
I raise my eyebrow at that. “Say no more.” My eyes shift downward.

Do i even have to say anything?! WHY ARE THEY SO PERFECT!? WHY ARE THEY SO FUNNY AND AMAZING AND KICK-ASS!? WHY CAN'T THEY ACTUALLY, REALLY EXIST!! *SOBS* Ehem...i mean...Yeah, Day & June are cool. :P

But seriously dudes! This series is EPIC and you need to read it ASAP if you haven't!
