Interview with Kim Harrington + Giveaway!

Clarity
You know what i adore even more than the book CLARITY?? The AUTHOR of said book, Kim Harrington! (& yes in the first sentence i refer to Kim as a "what" BUT, i'm fairly certain she's not 100% human. For real. She has a way-to-clever sense of humor and she's ridiculously too nice....all signs point to non-human. Just sayin'....)

So i may have professed my love of CLARITY to Kim once, twice or sixteen times! Seriously the book IS BOMB! It flips you in all these crazy directions, has MULTIPLE sexy boys for you to swoon over & an amazing-OHmyGod-I-want-to-be-HER heroine! What is NOT to love!? Still NOT convinced....check out my review HERE! (tell me THAT doesn't make you want to read it!)

To see me embarrass myself with the first question, find out which CLARITY character considers me his true love & enter for your chance to win a copy of this amazing book, continue reading!
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Kim, is it too creepy to say I love you….i mean you…your…your writing style!? I’m so glad I picked up CLARITY (because I wasn’t gunna *GASP!* I know! The cover sucked me in though) because it was absolutely awesome and hilariously brilliant! How has your debut experience been so far!?

Thank you! Love ya right back. :)
It has been so fun. It’s something I’ve wanted all my life and worked hard for years to attain, so to have it finally happen…this sounds cliché, but…it’s truly a dream come true. My two favorite parts of the experience are seeing the book in bookstores (the first time I cried) and getting nice emails from awesome people (like you!).

I also happen to love all the characters in CLARITY, especially Perry & Mary..uh..i mean Starla! Are any of them based off of anyone you know in real life?
No one is really based on anyone from real life, but I will admit that Clare and I share a couple quirks (especially our love of sarcasm). My friends point at certain passages and say, “That’s you!” Just silly stuff, like Clare’s hatred of seafood.

All right so I had my suspicions when I read CLARITY. I was almost 100% sure it was Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick. Obviously, I was wrong. Are you a big fan of murder mysteries?
Huge fan! In movies, on TV (I’m really loving AMC’s The Killing right now), and in books (both adult and YA). I would love to see the mystery genre really take off in YA. I think it’s time! Who’s with me? *raises fist into the air*

*Raises fist with Kim*....*crickets* All right...well speaking of mystery, I feel that Mr. Gabriel Toscano is still hiding a lot. So let’s air out some of his personal laundry! What kind of guy is he really? I mean if he were to take me out…err…I mean…if he were to take Clare out on a date, where would he bring her? (You can tell a lot about a guy from the type of date he takes you on, trust me!)
Well, first he’d come to Clare’s door holding a single red rose. She’d expect him to suggest some fancy restaurant for dinner, which isn’t her style, but he’d surprise her with a romantic candlelight picnic on the beach. But then, right when they’d be about to lean over the blanket and share a kiss, his true love would walk up. A girl named Brooke… ;)

*Blushes* How can i even ask another question after THAT revelation!? But i suppose since we're spilling secrets, one more before ya hit the road! What can you tell us, if anything, about the troubles Clare will find herself in during PERCEPTION? An Italian Mafia war perhaps?
Deep, deep trouble! I can’t say too much yet, but I will say she has another mystery to solve…and a decision to make.

O_o Well Kim, thank you a TONDLE for the wonderful interview! I am so flippin’ excited for PERCEPTION I can hardly stand it!

And while we wait for the sequel, let’s all go re-read CLARITY!! Wait....what? You HAVEN’T read CLARITY yet?? Well today is your lucky day! Enter for a chance to win YOUR VERY OWN COPY of the amazing debut by Kim Harrington HERE!

INTERNATIONAL!!!
Must be at least 13 years old!
Last day to enter is May 29th!
Winner picked at random on May 30th!

Waiting On Wednesday

*Sings to the tune of Manic Monday* Just another awesome Wednesday, wish these books were actually out, so i could read them, because they sound bomb, just another awesome Wednesday!

All right so maybe not the best song in the world but it has potential don't you think....No? Just get on with WoW? Okay, okay no need to be so bossy! Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine! And this week i am waiting on:

Stolen Nights (Vampire Queen, #2)Thought you loved Infinite Days? Well, just wait until you read the sequel and second book in the Vampire Queen trilogy, Stolen Nights.~Goodreads
Yep! That's all of a synopsis Goodreads give us!! I am dying to know what happens in this book! I absolutely loved the first in the trilogy, Infinite Days!  I thought it was an awesome twist to the vampire trend that made it stick out from the rest! Plus how gorgeous is that cover! God, i love me a good cover, and that my friends is a good cover! This book says it's coming out June 21st but i am almost 152% sure it got pushed back.... *sadface* but i bet it will totally be worth the wait!!

Clarity by Kim Harrington

Clarity
Author: Kim Harrington

Rating: 5 Shiny Stars!!

When you can see things others can't, where do you look for the truth?

This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats.

Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift.

And a curse.

When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case--but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother--who has supernatural gifts of his own--becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?~Goodreads

I absolutely adored this book! It had me on my toes the whole time! I was biting my nails and flipping pages frantically i got a couple paper cuts! I seriously had no idea who was on the killing spree! Kim weaves the story so fantastically i thought everyone was a suspect! Obviously my detective skills need a little work...

& speaking of detectives, we get introduced to the Detective's son Gabriel, and oh my goodness he is soo attractively sexy and mysterious & all rough around the edges!*swoons* But there's also Clare’s ex-boyfriend, Justin, and he is funny & cute too! How am I supposed to pick?! How is Clarity suppose to pick!?!

Then the family aspect of this book is also amazing! Clare's brother Perry & mom are both such strong characters & i love, love, loved them! They are absolutely adorable!! Clare’s mom has the ability to read minds, while Perry can summon and talk to the dead! Awesome right!? but wouldn’t that totally suck if your mom could read your thoughts?! *shudders*

Now for my favsie- Clarity! Best thing about this book by far, is the main character! OhMG!! She is my new all-time favorite heroine! Ever! What i like most about her is she acts from her heart so all her decisions seem like the right ones! Family comes first to her and she would do anything to protect her loved ones! She comes across so strong, but she's just trying to protect herself from getting hurt too. And that means she doesn’t take crap from anyone! I mean look at her on that cover, does she not just scream BADASS!?!! She is so snarky and sarcastic and witty & cute (she has Diet Coke and powdered donuts for breakfast, plain awesome!) I canNOT wait to read more from Clare’s POV in the sequel, PERCEPTION, coming out next year!

Best lines ever: "I pray every night that you'll fall victim to some strange and unusual castration accident."

"Listen, i gather that you have a problem working with a psychic. Believe me, i don't like working with a jackass any better."

The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter

The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1)The Goddess Test
Author: Aimee Carter
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 304
Rating: 3.5 Stars!
It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.~Goodreads

The Goddess test is a quick & intriguing read!
Aimee’s writing style keeps you hooked and coming back until you finish the story. She also throws in plenty of twists and turns along with awesome secondary characters! I think this was a good read, but it honestly wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought the “tests” would be something completely different and I think they should have been incorporated into the story more.

Another thing that caught me off guard was the friendship between Kate and Ava. I just really didn’t understand how they became quick friends. Ava was kind of a horrible person and really rude to Kate- yet they are best friends?

Then there is Henry, and I really liked him but I feel there should have been a lot more of him in the story. He kind of just popped in & out of scenes, wasn’t really a constant. And considering Kate is in the running to rule the Underworld with him, I thought their relationship would have been different. I feel as though they didn’t actually get to know each other or spend enough time with one another. Plus if they did spend time together it was mentioned, and not actually shown.

One thing I did enjoy though, was the relationship between Kate and her mom. They were really close and Kate was very dedicated to taking care of her mother. I liked how Kate's mom just wanted Kate to live her life and be happy! So it was sad to watch both Kate and her mom suffer when her mom's sickness progressed. Later in the story Kate gets to spend time with her mom while she sleeps. They have dream visits and I thought those were cute!

Over all I feel that The Goddess Test is more of a set up for the rest of the series. I want to read more about Kate’s transformation into actually ruling and becoming a Goddess!

Girl meets boy.

Girl loses boy.

Girl gets boy back...

...sort of.

Ava can't see him or touch him, unless she's dreaming. She can't hear his voice, except for the faint whispers in her mind. Most would think she's crazy, but she knows he's here.

Jackson. The boy Ava thought she'd spend the rest of her life with. He's back from the dead, as proof that love truly knows no bounds.~Goodreads

This story is so wondrously written in verse, that it's impossible to put it down. If you're skeptical to read it because it's written verse, DON'T BE! It's so worth it & honestly amazing! I totally forgot that this was my first "ghost story" but i didn't forgot how emotionally impacting it is. Gosh, why are ghost stories always so freakin' sad? Tears will fall (kinda like heads will roll...but not) when reading this book!

The story starts off with the main character Ava at her boyfriend Jackson's funeral. So the book is filled with flashbacks of their relationship and those flashbacks are nothing short of beautiful. They really let you see what Ava and Jackson's relationship was like and it was absolutely adorable.

While Ava tries to cope with losing Jackson she suddenly starts to feel his presence, and it becomes even harder to move on while he's still around (sound familiar? Kinda like another one of my favorite books!)

Ava goes from blaming herself for Jackson's death, to understanding she needs to move on and let him go completely. A incredibly heart-wrenching and touching read, i HIGHLY recommend it!

Meghan Chase has a secret destiny—one she could never have imagined…

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth—that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.~Goodreads

This book is jam packed with a ton of action and adventure! Every page leads to new information and that made it a face paced thrill. This book also picks up a creepy vibe once Meghan arrives in Nevernever, almost like a twisted Alice in Wonderland, which made it even more fascinating! The fights that go on in this book were nothing short of hard-core! I think that The Iron King was a great start for the series and an awesome set up for the more important fates Meghan will encounter. I personally find fey like super confusing and i thought they were all like Tinkerbell fairies, but this book proved me dead wrong.

With action, adventure and a dash of romance i think this book has it all!

Waiting on Wednesday

All right, i totally should be studying for my finals tomorrow, but you all know me, i canNOT resist a WoW! Waiting on Wednesday is an amazing meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine! Go learn about WoW. Do a WoW. & Love WoW. My pick this week:

A Need So Beautiful
Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

There have been others before who’ve felt the Need, but they’re gone—erased from the memories of everyone whose lives they had touched. It's as though they never existed. This is the fate that awaits Charlotte. But the last thing Charlotte wants to do is disappear, to be Forgotten. She wants to stay with her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend’s arms forever. She wishes she could just ignore the Need, but she can’t. And as everyone important in her life begins to slowly forget her, she has to decide if she’ll fight the Need in order to remain herself—no matter how dark the consequences.~Goodreads

First, what is with the YA book covers for 2011? Was there are rule established saying they all had to be absolutely beautiful!? Because this one is gorgeous & i bet the final version is gunna be all shimmery & pretty & beautiful & such! *Stares* *Pets screen* oh my gosh! Plus that title is stunning! i NEED this book because it
sounds so flippin' fantastic! I am IN LOVE with novels about angels and this one sounds like a brilliantly beautiful spin on the lore! and i also hear there is an incredibly beautiful romance between the main character and her sexy boyfriend Harlin! Um, how beautiful does HE already sound just from his name alone!? So i basically need this book asap! Good thing it comes out THIS JUNE!!!

p dot s- do you think i used the word "beautiful" enough? or should i go back & add it a couple more times? :P

Alexander submitted to having his feet measured, then waited in his socks for the salesman to bring the sneakers. He put them on and walked a few steps. "These won't do at all. They feel as though i am walking on marshmallows. Thank you, Amy, but my boots will do just fine." Again, i bit back my laughter. "They're called running shoes."

RaNdO fRiDaY MeMeS

This post is just two weekly Friday memes that i just HAD to do because the questions were awesome!

Book Blogger Hop
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer over at Crazy for Books! To find out more click the little picture of the books gettin' down!

The Book Blogger Hop question of the week: Which book blogger would you most like to meet in real life?

AH! i don't know! I would be too nervous to actually meet any of them like...for real, for real. For. Real. They are all amazing!! But if i HAD to choose, i would definitely want to meet my twitter besties Jena & Jaime! We bonded on goodreads over great books & hot fictional boys! Then we moved the party to twitter!!! Go check out their blogs because they are the coolest gals you'll ever meet! Also i would be lying if i said i didn't want to meet my blogger mentor Karen! She has to be THE nicest book blogger out there, she literally took me under her wing (well, not really cuz she actually doesn't have wings, but you know what i mean...wait, maybe she does have wings...i have yet to meet her in person...so it's definitely a possibility that she indeed has wings...) ANYwaaaay, i am super grateful for her awesome advice, guidance, Logan appreciation & over all support! No way i would have the followers i do now if it wasn't for her!! (wow....sappy & a little creepy....but all true!)

Follow Friday is another weekly meme hosted by Parajunkie, where you hop blog to blog just to say "Hi"! Isn't that CUTE!! (click on the pic to find out more info!)
The Follow Friday question for this week: What charcter in a book would you most like to be, what character in a book would you most like to date?

I def would want to be Clare from Kim Harrington's Clarity! Not only does she have the awesome paranormal power of psychometry, she also happens to be super sarcastic & snarky & i just love her! Plus her family is adorable & i want Perry to be my older brother! :D

hmmm....for the next question...so many fictional boys...so little time....i think a better question would be who wouldn't i want to date! ha! But i think Will from Firelight would make a good BF! He is super sweet & a little needy & not to mention plain cute! *GASP!* Surprised i didn't say Logan...me too! But honestly i just don't think i could handle him & all his sexy amazeness!

SQUEE! Memes are fun!

Waiting on Wednesday

HuZzAh!! It's Wednesday again! Yay!! I WUVES ME SOME WoW!! For those of you who don't know what WoW is, it's a weekly meme hosted by awesome-sauce Jill over at Breaking the Spine that allows us to be all fan-girly over books we are excited to read!  Here's my pick for this week:

Vanish (Firelight, #2)

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever. Goodreads

First......Look at that cover O_o

Could it be ANY more gorgeous! Eeep! I hearts it soo much! It’s perfect!

I canNOT wait to read Vanish! I absolutely loved the first book in the series, so I’m super excited to pick up where that one left off! Jacinda & Will are one of my favoritest YA couples ever! *swoons* Will…uh…I need more of him in my life (he is soo frickin' sexy!) Plus Draki are pretty much amaze!

(you can read my most fan-girly review to date here!<----)

So...I HAVE to get my hot pocket snatchin’ hands on this book like.....yesterday! If you haven’t read Firelight…YOU MUST!!! You still have time before Vanish comes out this September!

HAPPY BURFFDAY

Today is a very, Very, VERY special day! Not only is it the book birthday of Divergent by Veronica Roth (& some other books that i should know about but don't) it's SHIFT's birthday too!!!

& one thing i love about Jeri Smith-Ready's SHADE trilogy is that they are centered around music! My boyfriend Logan..err...i mean Aura's boyfriend Logan is basically a rockstar, so music plays a really important part thought-out the series!  Music also has this special power to make you feel emotion, strong emotion & that connects to SHADE so perfectly because that book is just one big roller coaster of emotion!

Have you guys been following the SHIFT blog tour hosted by Karen over at For What It's Worth?? If not, you should go check out the kick-off post that shared Logan's It Sucks to Be a Ghost (Sometimes) Playlist!  Awesome, awesome songs that really give you a deeper look into Logan's character during SHADE!

Other amazing music related with the book include the SHADE reader playlist  that was posted over at Makeshift Bookmark last week & Jeri's "Official Soundtrack" for SHADE! After listening to the playlists i now have like 6 new CDs for my car!! They are all just....uh...so incredible! (two of my favs are Breathe Again by Sara Bareilles & Just Friends by Gavin DeGraw found on the Reader Playlist!!)

but anyway, incase i haven't made it known i absolutely LOVED the first book in this series & was ecstatic to learn there would be a sequel! So to celebrate this momentous moment in history a giveaway is in order! & don't birthday parties always have presents??!
